If you die without making a Will (i.e. intestate), the law will decide on how your estate is split between the family members you leave behind. In particular, unmarried partners do not automatically inherit your assets unless you have specified this in your Will. If you have no family, then your estate may go to the Government.

At Mander Cruickshank Solicitors LLP we have established experience in Will drafting and advising on the setting up of trusts, inheritance tax planning and avoiding the pitfalls of a badly written Will. Our Wills and Probate team offer a friendly, efficient and expert service to ensure that your wishes are met. We are happy to do home or hospital visits if you are unable to visit the office.

Storage of your Will is available at our Coalville office free of charge and all of our Wills are registered with 'Certainty', a digital registry endorsed by the Law Society of England and Wales that records that your Will is held by Mander Cruickshank Solicitors LLP, making other Solicitors in the UK aware that we hold the original. This means that when your Will is needed by your beneficiaries it is easily traceable and is not overlooked - see www.certainty.co.uk

Our Wills and Probate team also have long-standing experience in handling the sometimes complex probate procedures that can be necessary in administering the estate once a Will has come into force, including tax collection and the distribution of assets.
